Alienware X51 is a compact and powerful desktop designed to get Mid level performance in such a compact system. Alienware makers are always known to do something different with the design and they have done it again this time. Alienware X51 is small but inside the small enclosure hides an 2nd generation Intel core i processors, 8 GB 1333 MHz dual channel RAM, 1 TB external storage and 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 555 video card with 330W PSU.
There are several things which make this small and beautiful desktop a piece to buy. Alienware's traditional dark and extraterrestrial design has also been extended to the X51, but as a wholly new product category, it has a few distinct characteristics of its own. While the company has always loved sharp angular edges, they are especially pervasive on the X51.The front, bottom and top panels have sharp, inward and outward points, while the sides are flat with rounded edges. The shape, along with the combination of matte, gloss and chrome plastics used for the casing and accents give it a more modern feel. Despite its largely plastic construction and entry-level pricing, the X51 has a premium look. The sides have clear LED-illuminated panels that look almost like racing stripes and the chrome alien head logo pops amidst the glossy black panel it rests upon. Alienware has cleverly designed the logo so that it can be rotated to face upright in either vertical or horizontal orientations.
Alienware X51 comes with a windows 7 operating system. There is also a slot loading DVD drive which can be upgraded to Blu-Ray for HD movies. Alienware X51 desktop can be connected using faster USB 3.0 ports and HDMI video output. Alienware X51 also supports up to 3 monitors. It can also get connected to internet through standard Built in Wifi.
As always each and every device or gadgets have con's, the Alienware have some of them too. First of all it needs external power supply which is not happening for modern gaming devices, and next there is some fan noise coming out of the system and also there is no internal room for expansion.
Overall Alienware X51 is a nice system for gamers who want something extra for PC gaming and is also a must buy for those who want something compact and beautiful in a relatively affordable price.
